Susie is a trooper!
Susie is a trooper….thanks to Skutt and my incredible handyman husband!
Reminiscing back a year ago…when we said our goodbye’s to Oregon life and made the transition to Austin Texas. We officially moved into our home on July 1st 2021! The house needed a lot of TLC! So, while we waited almost two months for our movers to deliver our stuff, we got to work on making our house feel more like our home.
When our moving truck finally came our excitement quickly shattered as our stuff was pulled off the truck one by one damaged…boxes dented, many broken and damaged items. I think the thing I had the hardest time on was my kiln. We had packed it carefully on a pallet, strapped down and wrapped carefully per Skutt’s instructions. Upon arrival it looked like the kiln (aka… “Susie”) might have completely been dropped off the pallet! Bricks were damaged and crumbled like bread crumbs. Thankfully Skutt was super helpful and sent the new parts needed and my handyman hubby helped put her all back together again! Yay!!!
Months of hard work continued on the house…and life took over. My studio sat set up but just no time to create pottery. The first of the year came and I was determined to get creating! I officially fired my first bisque load in May. Almost a year after my last firing in Oregon! It felt SO good to get back into it all. I have many goals and dreams here in Austin…There is so much new inspiration and so many kind people that I’ve met so far on my journey. I hope you can join with me and see where it all leads!
